About Brittany Murphy

Brittany Murphy was an American actress, voice talent and singer. She was born November 10, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA with the name Brittany Anne Bertolotti. Brittany's road to fame began at the age of 14 when she landed her first job in Hollywood as Brenda Drexell in the television series Drexell's Class. Brittany had roles in several television series including Murphy Brown, Kids Incorporated, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Almost Home, Blossom, Frasier, Party of Five, Sister, Sister, Boy Meets World, The Marshal, SeaQuest DSV, Murder One, Nash Bridges, Clueless, Pepper Ann (voice of Tank the 8th Grader), and King of the Hill (voice of Luanne Platter).

Brittany Murphy was also an accomplished big screen actress with a large number of credits in her short life. Notable movies include her breakout role as Tai in Clueless and roles in Drop Dead Gorgeous, 'Girl, Interrupted', Summer Catch, Don't Say A Word, Riding in Cars with Boys, Spun, 8 Mile, Just Married, Uptown Girls, Little Black Book, Sin City, Love and Other Disasters and the voice of Gloria in Happy Feet. Brittany leaves us with several unreleased, post-production films including Abandoned, Something Wicked and The Expendables.

Brittany Murphy worked with Paul Oakenfold on the hit single Faster Kill Pussycat released in 2006. For Happy Feet she covered classics Somebody to Love (Queen) and Boogie Wonderland (Earth, Wind and Fire). Brittany was a talented singer and many fans anxiously awaited further releases.

Brittany's personal life included relationships with actor Ashton Kutcher, talent manager Jeff Kwatinetz, was engaged to production assistant Joe Macaluso and married screenwriter Simon Monjack in 2007.

Brittany Murphy passed away on December 20th, 2009 at a young age of 32. Brittany was able to capture the hearts of many with her talent and a beauty that radiated from an obviously beautiful soul.
